Funny enough, postmodernism and political philosophy are where I have read a lot of primary sources. It's actually IR and more traditional geopolitics where most of my learning is from papers. However journals and articles do comprise the majority of my scholarly reading in the last five years across all fields; it's been quite some time since I read a full non-fiction book that wasn't law or domestic public policy related.

I think I did at some point, but it's been well over five years since I read that. I'd also consider that history not modern poli-sci/IR.
