A recession is generally defined as two or more sequential quarters of negative GDP growth. Canada's GDP growth rate has certainly slowed but I haven't seen it go negative yet.

Someone recently tried telling me that medication for pnuemonia is more expensive in Canada than the US, so while they don't pay for the doctor's visit they end up paying more if they have certain illnesses. I think she was a dirty whore and lying to me.

'eh, gas prices still haven't been the worst here than they used to be over a decade ago (139c/litre, currently been wavering between 104/114c the past year), and the price of bread still hasn't gone up again. Only thing that's absolutely fucked is the price of houses. You could probably hire someone to build yourself a house for less than the cost of some of the small bungalows around here. Our shitty dollar been hovering around that 0.70-0.75 range for quite a few years now. It's stable, but it's still not great.

My video game buying habits have drastically changed ever since CDN$80 ended up being the norm though. Like I'm going to pay $90 after taxes for a new game, I'll just wait six months to get it for $20.
