ffxiv's armor locked cookie cutter single set builds is really not fun. 95% of that game is grinding and glamors
Hearing XIV called grindy is so weird from folks who spent years in XI.
Just treating reading like it's shiny hunting or something?
i mean, it feels like a grind at least. spam story quests, get ur 1 new set of armor for whatever class you are, do the raids, log off until next expansion. on repeat. to me it never felt like an actual game so much as an offline single player mmo simulation and as a single player game it felt incredibly boring and grindy. ffxi never felt like a grind, even after the 1200th ixion or 600th tiamat because it wasn't about the repetitive nature it was about shutting down others and getting stuff for my group.
if ffxiv was what came out in 2001/2002 i never would've become an mmo player tbh, maybe a WoW player instead at most.
ok gred
He gon' be mad at that cuz I refused to bot.
I got as many claims as anyone else in zerg and I woke up every window to try claim while our botters went to sleep.
I was also one of the few WHM he could wake up in the dead of night for an HNM pop.

If you're a new player, it can feel like a grind if you want to reach current content without paying for a story skip since at this point, it's around 450 hrs of story and dungeons. If you skip cutscenes, it's still around 200+ hrs. That said, there is stuff to grind and you can definitely spend 100s of hrs trying to get some things, but most of the rewards for grinding is just glamour, titles, or mounts. Power is gated behind weekly lockouts (sorta like HNMs, Limbus, Dynamis, etc. if you think about it) but everything resets every 8-9 months so it's whatever.
Progression being time limited (rather than player gatekeeping) and the fact that everything resets are both independent issues.
I think everything should function on world spawns; "accessible" content should have faster repops that are harder to monopolize (i.e. Sky's Ullikummi vs. Ground Kings). But Asura OGs know that Sky could be monopolized as well by determined enough players...
College football sucks. Every time I try to tune into a game it’s always a crazy blowout with a ranked team versus some podunk school.
And the discourse about the season always feels like it’s more about the politics of rankings rather than the actual quality of play.
Late season games that should have big implications on playoff seeding where teams are just playing absolute scrubs have always been dumb as hell.
Most of the teams in current playoff position this week were playing FCS teams that they're paying like a mil to get a free win
I'm glad someone finally said it. I have never seen so many teams with such weak schedules.
Edit: "Certain teams" <coughbamacough>
The cupcake before rivalry Saturday is pretty standard
And it's dumb. Teams should be playing meaningful games at this point in the season, not 1 win FCS cupcakes like Georgia and Texas A&M did today (also Bama playing a 3 win FCS scrub)
^these posters aren't watching BADGA romp to yet another victory against a top-25 opponent

Rating key lime over pecan is one of those things they would burn witches for.

People got called in front of HUAC for saying key lime is better than pecan.
