If your family does a Christmas ham instead of a Christmas turkey or goose, your family is trash.
We do a ham on Easter but thanksgiving and Christmas are reserved for turkey, we were never bougie enough for a goose lmao
whomst the fuck does a Christmas goose
My family did a Christmas roast.
But then again my grandfather was a butcher so we got that good stuff on the cheap.
We do both a turkey and a pernil. Then we got some pastelas, empanadas, arroz can gandules, tostones, ensalada de papa. A few other things too I can’t recall off the top of my head.
I love thanksgiving and Christmas.
What about a Christmas roast pig?
My family does posole and some other stuff, plus a bunch of sweets that my wife bakes (it's usually what we're in charge of).
Santeros I swear.
Tamales + typical Thanksgiving food for Thanksgiving
Can I come to your Christmas Xno? Sounds delicious.
I dunno what we're doing for the holidays this year. My wife decided she doesn't want to go up to her family's, which is fine by me, but I don't know what my dad is doing. Not sure I want to go to my step mom's family's place again.
turkey is literally the worst tasting protein on the planet and if you're stuck in that tradition i feel bad for you son. have a roast or something
Yeah, my wife loves that we do traditional Thanksgiving food (made by my sister's SO) as well as our own shit. The rest of us are like nah, we want the tamales with frijoles puercos and arroz.
Thanksgiving was always Turkey, and Christmas was always a roast, with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, yorkshire puddings, and gravy. Perk of having a grandmother who immigrated to the US after WW2. I'm a huge sucker for Yorkshire puddings but sadly Astylla hates them, and I can't bring myself to absorb all those delicious carbs on my own.
I've tried to eat all the Yorkshire puddings one time. I got v v v v v v v sick.
There was a string of thanksgivings where my dad would deep fry two turkey breasts and inject them with Cajun seasoning and it was honest to god the best turkey I’ve ever had. Alas, he’s gotten older and it can be a physical task to drag out the fryer and change oil so we stopped doing it. But I do miss it.
