When Dynamis was first released I was a "founder" of an LS on my server. I was the sacrificial THF in charge of pulls and keeping the melees organized. It was fucking terrible. Too many people to really organize that well, especially when we didn't have a good way to communicate with everyone.

Eventually school took priority and when I came back to the game more consistently a couple years later I was just clearing it with some old friends and their LS.

What also made it difficult to keep melees organized is that I was dead half the time from sac pulls and was generally out of sight range of the parties.

what does organize the melees mean? didn't they just target whoever the tanks were targeting? it was a single line script

Making sure the parties were fairly balanced in composition, keeping them from going too far ahead, making sure they target the correct mob, taking care of problem members (discipline or kick), being sure they're aware of pull lanes and where to stand/not stand, etc.

Basically babysitting.

maybe it's cause i was a mage that had actual duties to perform, or 64 people would wipe, but to me all melee did in dynamis was auto attack whoever their alliance tank was targeting and throw out a weapon skill when their tp was up. pretty brain dead shit

the only people that had to think in dynamis were the pullers, sleepers, and the tanks

I don't disagree, but it was new content and people are stupid. That's why it was basically just babysitting.

I got punished once because everyone in my LS wiped to a bad pull and when I saw 5 people simultaneously go "fuck" and mages start dropping I walked off to the side and didn't touch anything. Once everyone was back up they made me do a sac pull.

That's dumb. I wouldn't have faulted you for that. If you were gonna wipe anyway then all you did was save yourself some exp.

I can actually understand that point of view but I also understand every person we have to wait on to reraise/get raised/med up is making the trip longer for everyone else.
