Was at a new place teaching kids to code today. The computers in the library were absolutely garbage and kept crashing. This kid had never done any of this before but he was running circles around the other kids and modifying the code in smart ways and obtaining the same results by ignoring the simplified instructions. He figured out "else if" on his own. His machine crashed just before we were about to pack it up and we offered him the documentation and instructions to do it at home. I almost cried when he said they didn't have a computer at home.
