There's a newspaper article from the district she worked in 2 years after she got fired saying that they would be changing policies so that teachers no longer would -automatically- be removed if they got pregnant. So maybe the principal at her school was bucking the actual guiding policy of the district for her and she's lying about it now and it never came up before this moment.

The short answer is, you think her former boss is going to write down, under reason for resigning/firing, "terminated for pregnancy"? That's not how people discriminate against women lol.

Theres also a news story explaining how even after laws were changed people still discriminated against pregnant women for awhile before people started speaking up more. I cant find it but I'm looking lol

It looks like this is the story:

Warren was pregnant during her first year teaching at a school. Minutes from an April school board meeting say her contract was renewed for a second year. A few months later when she was visibly showing she was told that they were going to hire someone else. The minutes from the June school board meeting say they accepted her resignation, but they can't say that she was let go because she was pregnant. There is at least one teacher from that school and time period that has spoken out to say that she would not be welcome if she was visibly showing.

The assertion from the conservative side being that she lied about being fired and actually resigned per the second board meeting's minutes.

In addition, she had said in the mid 00's that she had gone back to graduate school to take more education courses when she decided teaching wasn't for her. Warren's explanation is that she didn't open up about this event, and other events in her life, until after she became a public figure.
