Sure, scenario 2:

You spend 5 years fighting to contain and destroy a massive global problem created by one country. 11,000 of your people die doing so. However, you also manage to carve out the single safest part of a region of the world otherwise massively devastated by civil war. You live in this region, keeping the problem held down and making your area a model for security and government.

Now country one comes back and says that the people they had in the area, whose presence was keeping away a regional enemy with a history of genocide, are leaving immediately so they can go watch some oil fields instead. No more help or thanks for anything that's been done. So predictably, as soon as they're gone the enemy rolls in, bombs your town, kidnaps, rapes, and murders the elected head of your major political party on camera and calls it a huge victory.

Then a week later after you've still been fighting to hold on, country one comes back and says good news! There's peace. We've stopped the fighting. All you have to do is leave your home immediately and give it up to the enemy who was just bombing you.

So maybe you do leave, but do you a) really do so willingly and b) actually believe it will bring about peace?

Kinda unrelated but I made a post in ycs asking what does the Quran say in regards to infidelity of the wife, in regards to ilhan omars homewrecking ways.

I was immediately met with “but wut about teh bible!” lol

I actually checked up on that, the Bible says a lot about divorce but doesn't specify any penalties for women, except I think if a woman is divorced twice she can't remarry? Assumption being she must be defective at that point.

The Quran says all efforts shall be made to preserve the marriage but if it can't be settled after both sides have arbiters meet and observe a 4-month cooling off period, then they are allowed to divorce. A woman must wait 3 menstrual cycles before remarrying, I think to ensure that she's not pregnant with a child from her ex husband. If she is, the husband can opt to remarry her.

The Quran also specifies alimony for poor wives divorced by rich husbands.

I think the Bible just says it's grounds for divorce but doesn't really specify punishment, the Bible is more about God doing the punishing.
