The check in NY, or at least my area, is to compare your signature to the one on your driver's license. My signature is nothing like my driver's license signature and I didn't have an issue.

I mean, that signature they have on there is from when I was 16 and never signed anything. 15 years later it'd be weird if it hadn't changed.
