Also in Santa Barbara there's a bunch of wine tasting rooms from different vineyards, if you want to learn go there when it's not busy, buy a tasting flight (like $10) and talk to the people pouring.

Can start by talking to the proprietor of your local wine store. Mine is very willing to help pick out wines to pair with food, or just nice to drink, at various price ranges.

I'm super into wine (red wines really, I could live without white wines). I can't make recommendations until I know what you like, IE locations and types. Best recommendations I can make is that you pick up a box from naked wines (or whatever their equivalent is in the US). It's often cheap the the first box and comes with a large variety from around the world.

That's also fine. I believe there's a red for every single person on this planet, but I'm not going to tell people to drink wines that taste like piss to them until they find a bottle they like.

I used to get this cheap wine that just tasted like fresh grapes, like a natural grape juice, zero bitter, idk what you call that but it was good as hell. Had a grape vine in our yard growing up, took me back.
