That wasn't my experience traveling with someone that spoke it poorly. I ended up being the only one that spoke to anyone during our time there because they gave them shit whenever they tried.

For an action adventure game it certainly is. Games that do it better certainly exist, but being less engrossing and challenging than Bayonetta for example, doesn't actually mean it's not engrossing and challenging.
It's not like context ceases to exist when comparing a game with decent combat to a game that amounts to a literal walking simulator.
