On a separate note, and I'm not sure if I'm the only one who feels this way here, but I actually don't think of combat when I think of Zelda games. I really enjoy them for the puzzles, and collecting/finding shit. The combat isn't bad, it's just not what I would even bring up if I were to recommend the game to someone.

I would agree in every game before BoTW. Almost every encounter with a lynel in BoTW was engrossing for me until I started carrying endgame items. Same with the master sword trials.
