I enjoyed it but I'm told the place to see it was in theaters, audiences apparently were deathly quiet during the entire film except for the waterfall scene. Interesting psychological stuff.

It’s a well produced movie and the acting is solid. The script is just fucking bad.
The military apparently couldn’t come up with a plan of attack with sound versus the aliens? Why not just camp/live next to the waterfall if it fucks with the aliens sense of hearing so much? How did the kids get lost on their own farm?
That’s what I can remember off the top of my head and I saw it in the theaters. Just one too many dumbass plot choices to ask for your suspension of disbelief.
Dave Chappelle’s ‘Rotten Tomato’ Standup Reviews Are In. They’re Exactly What You’d Expect.
tl;dr Critics hate it, gets a 38% on Rotten Tomatoes, but audience gives it a 99%.
The questions you're asking can be explained away if you gave it thought. You ever been next to a waterfall? Would you live there?
I mean the movie ain't all that, but that's not down to stupid mistakes characters make.
So the military couldn’t figure out how to kill these things but the family accidentally stumbles across it? Don’t give me that “suddenly overwhelmed” shit either. The pentagon easily had enough time if some national enquirer wannabe was able to print out articles saying “Its Sound!”
Oh and god forbid the waterfall is too much of a nuisance to set up camp so you’re wife can give birth away from ruthless bloodthirsty aliens.
And who’s mad lol? You’re the one that seems awfully annoyed this morning.
You should only watch documentaries.

Kevin Hart getting put in his place by a gay man. Truly, if you're from the hood you know. Lil Nas X is just straight with him and I wish more people were honest like he was with Hart.

I mean, 99% is not a small majority making a move to "spite others." Unless the claim is that people are creating sock accounts to review it positively.
I'd more question the critics' takes on the special and their apparent need to appeal to a specific group of people that believe joking about anything that makes people uncomfortable is unheard of and objectively bad.
The first critic in the article even said the following:
So his jokes are logically sound, but because they don't conform to the cultural shifts he's poking fun at, they're bad? Are we playing humor police in a second thread now?"The soundness of their logic is as intact as ever, but they’re seldom informed by facts or new perspectives,"
You disregard the possibility of using the waterfall camp to safely give birth because of something as technical as high decibels, but completely hand wave the military being wiped out cuz reasons lmao?
That seems rather odd lol.
I hope Dave Chappelle never stops making specials.
I think the dangers of living near a waterfall are more varied than high decibels. All that moisture is killer on shelter, nevermind flooding and just never having quiet lol.

I've never had to live next to a waterfall, but I'd take flooding, moisture, and noise over guaranteed death.
I already deal with flooding and moisture in my basement because of the creek that runs through the property. Add on a screaming 6 month old and 2 dogs and I'm pretty close to the sound requirements.
