The Optimistic Asshole
Sweaty Dick Punching Enthusiast
The Righteous Gemstones
Aired tonight on HBO and was a god damned ride. John Goodman, Adam Devine, and Danny McBride play a rich family that own a megachurch, complete with mansions, private jets, and all the other rich, hypocritical Christian nonsense you'd expect.

Enjoyed it a lot, and I have been looking forward to this show for a while now (I hate when they promote a show I can't set up to record because it is too far out). Sadly anything with Danny McBride (As much as i love almost everything he is in) is almost always short-lived.

It's a fantastic show for episode 1. I went to a Baptist/evangelical undergraduate program and everyone was harping about the Harvest Bible stuff and Willow Creek (basically arena worship exactly as depicted). Kinda fun to see this out in the open because there was real beef with local congregations when these mega churches came swooping in. It's also on the coattails of major stories about monetary abuse in these churches.

Wife and I are enjoying this so far. Danny McBride always plays the same character, but it's still fun.

I trusted Zet and this is what happened
Eleven owes me $40 bucks
Not sure what to think of this so far... but I think I'm enjoying it more than On Being a God in Central Florida (which only has the highlights of Kirstin Dunst)
