amazing ep
I know it fits the tone of the show, but seeing Daredevil being all jokey compared to his ultra serious and brooding Netflix series was a little off putting. Still enjoyed the show. Just might take some adjustment for me.
Damn that escalated pretty quick.
Yeah just finished a bit earlier and that was my first impression as well. A few minutes later though the god damn Netflix Daredevil theme started playing and I instantly stopped caring. Just happy to have Charlie Cox/Matt Murdock back.
Now I feel like rewatching DD S1 lol.
The end left me with a very icky feeling, so well done for that I suppose.
#fuckJosh.
This Daredevil was actually much closer to the comics version. Netflix's Daredevil was from a very specific era in his career, for most of the last 60 years he's been less brooding. Not like Spider-Man level of jokey but not Punisher level of dark and angry either.

Damage Control (at least I think it was them) got there SUPER FAST at the end lol
At this point it’s too early to point that out, because either they could have been around just because She-Hulk was in a very public place and they just don’t trust her to be in full control, or Intelligencia, the people who set up the entire thing, have them some tip-off to make them show up.
It's also very common in comic books for a character to slightly change personality to fit the book they are appearing in. For instance you get very different Wolverines in Ms. Marvel v. X-Men v. X-Force, or Harley Quinn in her own book versus Suicide Squad.
I missed it, but apparently Murdock said in the courtroom scene that the Sokovia Accords were repealed
Yeah I imagine it happened post-snap since all the remaining Avengers were operating out in the open in Endgame
Mid credit but no end credit scene.
And I really wish Disney + offered a setting in their app that let me skip their Marvel icon intro.
Not sure how I feel about the finale. It went way too jokey. It was funny in the moment for sure, but right after, I’m just like… the finale was just…. It got rid of all the serious stuff. Quite jarring actually, considering the tone of the last episode’s ending and the actual plot element it had going.
Spoiler: show
Ep 9
What the fuck was that. Making a joke about messy finales while then making it messier is something.
Yeah, doing the basic shit would have been far better than what the ended up doing. And I can hear people saying it now; “everyone complains about bad Marvel endings and that they’re all the same so we did something different and your still complaining. You guys just want to complain and can’t be happy.”
When I’m reality the answer is; people want satisfying endings. Marvel just for whatever reason has an inability to grasp what a satisfying ending is. It’s certainly not taking your weird TV show where your character is dealing with grief and tragedy and having a massive breakdown and turning it into two flying witches chucking fireballs at each other. It’s not taking your adventure genre story about a man dealing with split personalities and trying to learn to cope with his issues and ending it with a kaiju fight. It’s notI don’t get it.Spoiler: show
That was like the ending of Wayne's World where he didn't like the conclusion and chose the super happy ending, except if they did that bit for half of the movie and had to rush the final scenes.
I applaud them for trying something new but it's like they got lost in the sauce with the fourth wall bit and went in even deeper than Deadpool. You never go full meta.
I like the character but there's literally no reason to look forward to season 2, it feels like.
