I don’t remember the grind, but I was also a kid who spent who knows how many hours overpowering my characters in BoF3 trying to beat the horse bros.

Unpop opinion:
I really enjoyed Chrono Cross. It wasn't as good as Chrono Trigger, and was a spiritual successor at best, but it had decent replay value and I liked the battle system. There were plenty of side quests to do and small upgrades to find. The way the home and other world interacted were fun, the same that the various times in Chrono Trigger influenced each other.
Imagine not putting VIII in at least A tier and not including vagrant story at all, the best of the final fantasy games that were not named final fantasy
Can we talk about how shitty octopus Traveller is in here
I still think about Chrono Cross' music to this day and when the PSX era barely exists in my memory anymore.
Cross is one of many games I own but never played, Vagrant Story is another.

That game fucking sucks. I stopped at two of the characters chapter two’s because it was so god damn repetitive and the stories felt like they were written by 8 different autists who were told old rpg stories.
Only reason it doesn’t get shit on is cuz nintendrones will defend anything shoved down their throats.
Those cut scenes were surprisingly good for PSX.
I think I rented Vagrant Story once. It started in a stone area (prison, waterway?) and had weapon durability, correct?
Now that I think about it though my hatred of horses might have a direct link to them.
Tiga in Breath of Fire 2 was completley unbeatable, you could deal 10k+ damage to him, more than the final boss, and he wouldn't go down.
Man that game was just one tragedy after another, too.
