Agree with the general criticism that PreservationAux humans are caricatures and not competent scientists out of their depth. Otherwise I'm entertained.

I actually like their caricature as hippie scientists. I think they are actually competent but they lean heavily on the comedy side.

^ To add to that, the whole thing is supposed to be narrated by Murderbot so I think it might also be its unreliable narrator version of how they are because it thinks humans are weird and messy

Anyway, I am kinda sad this show doesn't seem to be taking off much beyond the book readers. Doesn't bode well for its long term future, but I am fucking loving it.

If you're just starting now, you're lucky. Every episode feels too short when you go 1 at a time

Speaking of Murderbot.

What a fantastic season finale. They hit all the emotional beats. We got to see even more than the book how much the Corporation Rim sucks.

"I need to check the perimeter" took on a whole new meaning :O

how far into the book series does the show adapt ? i'm mostly through All Systems Red and wanna be ahead before starting

S1 is just All Systems Red

Theres a slight nod to a character from book 2 which you may appreciate if you read the next one. But it's ever so slight and not really anything you'd miss

just the first novella I believe, which was a somewhat odd choice given how slim it is, there's some definite padding and whatnot, some of which works better than others.
