I am nostalgic for Sbarro, I fully acknowledge the Pizza wasn’t the best but I have fond memories of hitting them up for a slice or two for lunch while shopping at the mall, bouncing between the “edgy” merch at Spencer’s and window shopping all the games I couldn’t afford at Software Etc, topping the day off with a visit to KB Toys and Sam Goody.

There's one still open a few blocks from my college. I'll take a photo tomorrow if I don't forget.

I was surprised by the number of times I saw the Domino's delivery guy riding around my neighborhood in the Bronx. Considering there were 3 pizza places within 2 blocks of my apartment, that were certainly all of much higher quality than Domino's, I just can't understand why people would make such a decision. I lived in a nice area of the Bronx too, so it's not like the people around me couldn't afford better pizza even if it was a little more expensive.

Are there a lot of tourists/travelers around there? The above posts made me think how often I order chain food when traveling bc I know it's generally safe and consistent. Unless talk to some locals I'm usually ordering domino's or some other chain to the hotel.

Not at all. There's like one shitty motel on Broadway that you'd probably get killed in. Looks shady as fuck.

Developers are starting to buy out Hunts Point and the surrounding areas. It'll resist a while longer, because it really is bad, but it will turn eventually.

I lived in Riverdale. It's a nice area of the Bronx, but there isn't anything touristy unless you wanted to go to Van Cortlandt Park or Wave Hill or some shit.

If they gentrify East Gun Hill, not gonna lie, I wouldn't be mad about it. I have family in Riverdale though and if I ever move down to the city, I wouldn't mind living there for the peace.

I used to use Gun Hill to get from the Bronx River Parkway to Moshulu every day as my commute home. Fuck that road.
