I’m maybe about 40% through the Voracious Resurgence story (just finished the Trion arc) and the writing is a big improvement on what I remember from XI back in the day. However, the story isn’t really grabbing me as everything so far has been very low stakes.

And so I find myself contemplating doing something nuts that I’ve never done.

Starting a mule from the start and taking it all the way thru the storyline. Now that all of these limited time trusts and bonuses are available I can stock up and be loaded. Follow the BG QuickStart guide to get thru story playing solo. I am also interested in the idea of playing thru the Rhapsodies story simultaneously with the expansions weaving in and out rather than how I originally played them one expansion after another, back in the day.

The idea of doing the mini expansions, dynamis, Abyssea, Voidwatch and all that again feels a bit too daunting so I’ll probably skip that.

Pankration, Monstrosity, Mog Garden/Monster Rearing, Chocobo Racing/Digging, Doing ALL the quests/storylines.

Uh, doing your damnedest to one man win the Shadowreign campaign and Fiat Lux your server?

I think this is the first time I've even seen the word Monstrosity since it was released, lol

I didn't notice until now but there's a Moogle in the starting cities with a treasure coffer beside them, and the coffer has some fun stuff for the anniversary, including a few mounts and some nifty alter egos ciphers.

But it is late, how many people are gonna be there?

depending on job, everything is soloable story-wise. this post reminded me I haven’t tried the only mission I haven’t been able to solo so far this time around (the last TVR fight). maybe I’ll give it a go later today

did two attempts yesterday. got him to phase two both times, and one try I killed 4-5 of the adds that spawn but it’s just impossible to keep your trusts away from the boss AoEing the whole time while you’re running around. so god damned aggravating

on the plus side, i did solo ghatjot in sortie and got a starstone drop from the basement

i was surprised to see the only person active on my Friend List appears to be Kuno, which is somewhat surprising to me that he also looks like he's made a decent amount of master levels lol
it's always interesting to see who comes back and how much content they manage to do

I'm still at it, got to Disciple in all coalitions and contributor in Pioneers. Going to finally get my entire Mog Garden to Rank 7.
Did the 3 RoE for the Sinister Reign trusts and the bonus level to them.

Discovered I still pretty much need a group for any kind of progress on my gear. Or Nyzul and 8 last Assaults.
Can farm Relic currency, but trying to farm Alex, HMP, or Riftdross is slooooooow or not possible for me. Same for Ambuscade/Hallmarks, and no Gallantry solo.

I’ve been choosing to level up a mule through the story instead of playing my main. The only roadblocks have been having to pause for the limit break quests otherwise it would be all gas no breaks to 99.

I had to do something “old school” last night because there is still not a modern way to shorten it. My first visit to Whitegate. Still had to go to Mhaura and wait on the ferry and take a 15 minute boat ride to get there. And then again to get to Nashmau. I don’t know how we used to put up with this shit back in the day lol

my apoc will be finished by tomorrow.

same problem will come up when I finished my ragnarok: i don’t think im going to be able to find enough plutons to finish 119ing it before the free period ends

You can solo a lot of the high tier battlefields on normal with trusts and during the campaign they usually drop a good amount of plutons

Team up with some people for higher difficulties for more drops
