There were so many people on Phoenix farming them for points they only lasted about 2 minutes. I barely got a hit in. At least I got my Custom RSE +1. It's honestly crazy how strong of a set it is for zero effort.

I agree. tbh I don't know much about how sortie works I just follow people and kill stuff. I suppose I should look at a guide at some point.

ive done sortie solo a bunch of times but all I can really do is kill a bunch of normal mobs and solo ghatjot

i followed a guide to run around and get all transport points, think the only thing I haven’t done on the top floor is kill the roaming hq fomor

I've killed 4 of the bosses but was also just following people around. I know Sortie and Vagary both have really specific "kill x mob x way" requirements for stuff.

im interested in getting as much sortie currency as possible because if i level mnk im going to want the full empty+3 set

I’ve been told it’s possible to run sortie solo with sneak/invis and farm a few hundred galimaufry each day without any combat necessary but I’ve yet to see that guide and try it

without combat yeah you can do that but that sounds terrible

solo i used to be able to get around 6kish but haven’t tried recently, my thf gear is slightly better since i last did it

generally speaking i would kill as much as possible in zone A including ghatjot, open all chests in A, and open a couple basement chests that didn’t involve combat. i need to kill the fomor nm at some point to gain access to another free basement chest

I think Dynamis Bastok is tonight around 8-830. The Wednesday runs are usually the unlock/fun runs while the Sunday runs are the wave 3 attempts

some guys took me on a sortie run last night with mixed results

we did kill ghatjot and had to zombie kill dhartok. i was dead when it died so i didnt get credit for RoE

then someone died to flans that apparently have alliance hate which i didnt know and i died in a spot where I couldn’t get back to the group

still got 13k galli so, whatevs

people were very excited that a sapphire dropped but i didn’t have the heart to tell them i have 7 rotting in storage from my solo runs because i need starstones

I also need Starstones, have a complete set of RDM+2 gear and some WAR and THF as well that's all stuck as is.

13k Galli isn't bad by any stretch though.

i was on blu because they wanted aoe mighty guard for bosses

but they told me to sub dnc for jig

next time im just subbing pld or war or run if they’re gonna have me subtank (they had me tank the botulus so they could get the chest for wsing it from behind). I’ll just buy the powders and oils

I’ve noticed whenever Ghatjot is on the menu I get asked to sub /dnc too for healing waltz for the poison to help out the WHM

Yeah, FFXI can still be a lot of fun with a group. I still think of the time 6ish(?) years ago when Day, Fondue, me, and a few others came back after not playing since WotG and did a bunch of the latest content together and even put together a full Aeonic run. Felt like old FFXI again.

Seeing the chat here makes me want to play again, but I know I won't have the time unfortunately.
