I’ve heard nothing but praise for 2018’s God of War. Started playing the other day and it starts off so slow I almost gave up on it. I was so confused why everyone was saying how good it was. Anyways I pushed on and a few hours later the game world really opens up and it’s indeed really good. I almost missed out on this because of how bad the beginning is.

My first playthrough was on "Give Me God of War", so I was pretty entertained at the beginning with a crap load of deaths in the first few fights lol

Overall it was a great experience. GMGoW starts off so fucking hard, but once you get better gear and a few more abilities it really starts to feel like the best difficulty. I didn't touch the other difficulties, but even GMGoW got a lot easier towards the end, so I can only imagine the others being too easy at that point of the game.

Anyway, I recommend it if you like dying a lot.

bruh yuh i rocked GMGoW on my first playthrough as well thought i was the only masochist stupid enough to do it. the beginning is so god damn fuckin hard but it eases off a lot towards the middle/end (outside of the Valkyries lord did they give me problems).

Echoing the difficulty at the beginning, but once I skilled up into that heavy overhead that cleaves your axe into them it got a little easier to manage the tanky enemies.

Also, fuck the flame world trials. Those got me raging.

Speaking of hard as fuck, I'm finally playing RE2 remake and I'm playing on Hardcore on my first playthrough. Just to demonstrate how that's going, my in game play time so far is about 4 hours, but my actual play time (according to Steam) is about 8 hours lol. I've had to redo so many parts. A lot of it being deaths, but some of it is not being satisfied with how I handled a certain part like wasting too much ammo or taking a hit when I know I could've avoided it.

But yeah, if you aren't a pro at the game yet, I recommend Hardcore if you want that same feeling you got from GMGoW lol. The difference is with RE2 you only have a limited amount of saves. So the OCD comes out and always has you thinking "could I have done that better?" It's terrible.
