    I just started the original Breath of Fire on the Switch classic library and I'm not too impressed. I had the same feeling about FFIV too

    I think RPGs really had a turning point at Chrono Trigger and FFVI. I haven't really appreciated anything older than that.

    Breath of Fire has always been kinda B tier compared to the main stays tho. BoF3 and 4 are great games but they can't hold a candle to FF 6-9

    some PC RPGs were mint before that but aye most of the Jap/console stuff is just too rudimentary / clearly designed for children

    Consider how releases work, and Last of Us 2 coming out earlyish next year, I imagine Horizon 2 being close to a launch title for PS5. I cant think of many other console exclusives they'd offer up with a new console, since those have had more recent releases.
