coke too.
Alright nerds, Misareaux had nice BGM, but if y'all are gonna claim you grinded away in XI for hours at a time listening to nothing but the background/battle track and the same dozen ws/ability fx then we need a new thread for liars and the lies they tell.
Heck, thinking back to its heyday, most of the grinding areas didn't even have a background track.

I usually had the TV or something on, but kept the music/sound on as well.
I was a PS2 only player up until like 2009, so yes, I always listened to in game music and SFX.
Ffxi music is aids
Uncultured swine
Only gym bros can call me uncultured swine
one of at least several bangin' bangers i dare say
i played on PC (and later minor 2-boxing with a PS2) and always listened to the game music and sounds. i even cranked it up for the my favorite tracks; most of my playtime was with a decent 5.1 speaker setup
i can barely reconcile the fact some people were so wrong with how they played the game
I played PC from release until like 2009 or so. My brother got maybe WotG for the 360 and I played on that a few times cause I had an enormous projection TV. Sat on the floor like 3 ft from the TV like a little kid.
and yes i was on ps2 also
also i enjoyed the battle music
Party battle music in Chains of Promathia areas was so good. First time I XPed in Bibiki Bay and the music kicked in I was like ohhhhhh shit
i would mute the tv and play a cd if i was leveling up in a zone i played a million times before. story stuff or going to new zones i would keep the sound on
That was pretty much my approach too. If I was doing something grindy like leveling or merits, I'd throw on my iPod. Otherwise, I had sound on all the time.
