why are you so salty about a FREE Private server?

How many of those 4k people would partake if there were any kind of fee involved?

They all claim it has nothing to do with the fee, I already explained that the majority are there because its free and they disagree. It just bugs me that they all quit and gave up on XI, or became burned out and left and now they just all constantly shit on retail. I can't explain why it bugs me, it just feels like a complete lie in all honesty. Hypocrites that did nothing but complain every single era of XIs life only to be so happy and carefree with a cheap imitation of what, exping on bees and low lvl garbage. They claim they hate retail XI and how "EZ" it became, yet theyve never done any of the hardest content the game had to offer. They also are almost all on XIV with multiple lv90s for people who hate any kind of systems that even looks like Abyssea or modern day convivences. The dummies coming out streaming saying its XI that they love and oh how I "missed" XI, when its still here! So ungrateful after all the hard work over the years, all the systems and beautiful art and storylines. I'd be willing to debate anyone on it, XI was still the same overall from after Abyssea onward. I really feel the only reasons they turned everyone on their heads for Abyssea was because they either planned to trash the game once XIV 1.0 came out(which failed and they had to backpedal fast and thats how Adoulin came) OR they wanted a way to shift the gameplay/progression radically so people understood changes were coming.

The tree event is fun because for anyone non-jp this is something we missed.


For those not in the know: when they introduced outpost warping in retail they had an event where you had to kill treats to unlock warping to them (can still warp to your home nation if you did the supplies, just can’t warp from your nation to the outpost). Thing is, when they were released, the jp already had a bunch of 75 players and the trees were down in like 5 minutes of the event going live.

The private server started off with this event, but since there are no 75s yet, they’re much harder to take down.

It’s just fun to experience something we didn’t really get to see in retail.

You gotta get over the whole, “you must not have played retail” routine, Draylo. Many of us have played recent retail, and maybe, just maybe, want to mix things up a bi instead of continuing to do the same content over and over again.


Some of this stuff are things we literally haven’t done in 20 years. We’re just going to “other fix” content to relive it. That doesn’t mean we thing retail is shit. It just means retail doesn’t offer this exact stuff anymore.

They are actually, all over youtube from this paid advertised server. I know because I've been debating with them and almost 90% of them are all coming from a place of nostalgia where they have huge goggles bolted on and blinded to reason. Pulling numbers out of their ass to support their claims and backing nothing up.

I'm aware of the tree event and know what it is. The reason I mentioned how dumb that was is because the guy who made the video said

"we have to team up and take this tree down, its the most fun in XI i've had in years because people are raising each other and healing and its a big team effort."

This type of "content" was literally replicated and refined so many times! The last time it was done was not even that long ago, in Domain Invasion. Every 30m a dragon pops on the server and everyone has to kill it to get points/beads. Then there is an HNM version of the dragon that pops and people even shout in town to get help to kill it, because it gives a server wide bonus. Before that walk of echos was basically a free for all, you walk in with the whole server and it was chaos with walls of avatars feeding skeletons HP and such.

The content was done over and over, I could list even more examples. So for him to say this was the most fun hes had in years? Even tho he came from retail and experienced those events? Stupid, so stupid. Who are they fooling lol. He didn't mention the actual tree event itself being the fun, but the concept. Why would a model swap matter? The content was always there and relevant in retail. This is the type of nostalgia goggles blindness I'm talking about.

Also, I may be passionate about it but I am calm its more of an eye roll. There are people trying to make threads to make SE aware of it, I haven't gone that far at all lol. I am just responding to comments on youtube because they are hypocrites and lying about retail.

I legit got cure bot when I did dynamis D because I was always falling asleep during the run, and really no one would notice the difference.

That is any video game though, you think people aren't/wont bot on this server? They are already people doing it and people that have the know how to bypass the checks the private servers use to block bots or multi boxing. It is only a matter of time before that server has it too when their population dwindles. Retail used to be policed too and its had 20 years to develop its players that have all embraced cheating. There were plenty of people who protested cheating back in the day, I used to when I was a kid. Now since most have embraced it, especially as they got older and less patient, its become common place and rampant.

You could play any video game and put cheats on to get max stats and levels, does that make the game inherently bad? Probably not right? I hope you wouldn't think so. Everything they are doing on that stupid server can be done on retail, but they wont bother. The worst part and what bugs me is they are actively bashing retail and one of the reasons you just said has also come up. Any game can have cheating, especially when its community embraces it. My point was, all that content was already there in the first place so them acting like its reinventing the wheel is stupid to me.

Also I am not gatekeeping, you dont see me forcing people off the server. I've purposely stayed out of their thread to not shit it up and only comment on youtube where everyone is allowed an opinion (a lot of people have been deleting my comments tho, cant take the heat I guess.) I do think they are pirating though and why should it be ok to cheat the company out of money (I know most here support piracy and such but its still a factor.) Also I find it incredibly funny they are using all assets from retail including modern gear to be used in their "hardmode" such an era feel.

Some characters have been jailed to speak further with GMs.
Some characters have had their crafting and/or fishing skills reset to zero.
Some characters have had their Lu Shang's Fishing Rods deleted.
A large amount of gil has been removed from the economy."

They dont list the specifics, if an account was banned we can assume they were cheating or breaking rules which a bot clearly does. You think nobody isnt going to use the readily available tools on google on a dinky private server that they dont give a shit about (IE free game)?

It was probably one of those, “kill it now to get it faster, but if you don’t kill it, we’ll unlock it after the event period.” But considering the list it looks like everyone opted to kill it.
