Lol, the moment you find proof some millionaire is backing a video game they pivot and say who cares. I mentioned it because I said earlier he was pumping ad revenue to the server and to promote it and some dolts told me I was wrong. Yeah he must have put a lot more into this one than you realize.

People laughed at you because nobody is spending a thing on ad revenue. Ninja throws money at these projects because he loves FFXI and wants to play them. They can't charge money or fish for donations because it's a fasttrack way to get SE to actually take action against them. It gets real expensive to upkeep good quality servers and that has to come out of pocket from the people running it.

He seems to believe that everyone playing on a FREE private server would actually be paying to play retail FFXI, even though a heavy majority of those playing on a FREE private server havent touched retail XI in 1-15 years.


However, if Ninja truly did pay the Horizon dudes to run the project, that could result in SE coming after them. At that point, its no longer a community project, but a paid service that others used SE assets to profit from.

Look, if he literally admitted to funding the server its clearly obvious something is going on behind the scenes. This guy has a huge ego and he is a millionaire. If you think he threw them a few pennies towards their server cost, you are really gullible. Most likely he met with these dummies on a different private server, they pitched him the idea for a new one and he gave them stipulations on what he wanted before he would fund it. They are at his beck and call. These are all people with complexes. They want to be top dog in Dragons Aery again and relive that childhood feels. I have no doubt there was a huge ad market campaign behind all this to push the server. Who the hell is streaming XI via 75 era in the numbers they are now? I see literal girls dressed like cats who mostly played XIV for vanity gear, they are streaming XI... give me a break, its all fake. Literally people in comments across all youtube videos on XI trying to convert people to HorizonXI "the biggest final fantasy server!"
