I don't see it. She can delay all she wants, but it's not going to change anything as far as I can see. GOP just going to scream that the Dems are further undercutting the constitution by illegally withholding the articles from the illegal impeachment. Easy GOP talking points to bolster support for Trump, zero apparent gains for Dems.

I've never really understood why we're doing this. We don't live in a world where anything good will come of this. Why does the left have to be so naive?

I'm guessing it is about the new cycle. She lets it through, the senate has already said they won't do shit, won't call witnesses, etc and just vote. This, of course, would fail. By pushing it through fast, they will control the new cycle.

So instead of "Trump Impeached" hitting all outlets, we would get a few days, maybe, then "Trump Exonerated".This is something Trump (Right) is good at, quickly push something out to overshadow something else.

If she sits on this, even for a few weeks, enough time will pass to allow "Trump Impeached" to hit enough people. What impact that will have? No clue. Keep in mind that a large majority of people don't follow the news like most of the people here. Sometimes if something isn't in the cycle for more than a few days, people don't know about it.

That 100%. And Pelosi holding onto impeachment proceedings is kind of a galaxy brained move. Constitutionally the senate cannot move with it until the house sends it their way so Trump can avoid the whole 'I've been exonerated' talking point that the media will gladly play for him and Mitch and several other GOP senators already said they would be an impartial juror for the impeachment hearing.

Its a move that generates Dem enthusiasm and nothing else.

We're already fucked come general election season because mainstream outlets that host the presidential debates will pretend like trump's impeachment doesn't matter and that he still should be taken seriously as the president so he'll gain points just for incumbency.

Honestly speaking none of this shit is suddenly going to sway votes to the cause. We’ve seen Trump be absolutely despicable and no one gives a fuck — they just blindly follow him regardless.

What needs to happen is that Dems should be doing everything in their power to convince people to vote come 2020 instead of playing politics. The GOP is full of utterly feckless and cowardly men who won’t even stand up to preserve the tenets of what they got elected for.

The real reason Pelosi is delaying is that as soon as it goes to the Senate, McConnell jams an acquittal through. Then the far left throws a hissy fit that process doesn't work. She's slow playing to forestall the giant let down.

There's probably a huge collection of resistance libs acting like Impeachment was the greatest thing that's ever happened in their entire lifetime. Don't act like the far left/right are the only ones who are absent of the stuff.

The best place to start is by not boiling it down to the horse shoe theory and understanding that while they might agree from a populist/anti establish standpoint their political needs are much different.

Also it depends what you consider different layers of the left. Gred might be referring to Chapo as far-left but my idea of far-left are tankies, anarcho communists, and other factions that don't practice electoral-ism (aka don't vote).
