I'm not saying he won't, keep in mind, but everyone on the right seems just utterly convinced of its inevitability.
Republicans have lost hundreds of seats nationwide since he took office, including in deep red, lean red, and purple states.
His approval rating has never escaped margin of error levels above or below 40%. The people who support him can not have their minds changed but he seems incapable of attracting new fans.
His only signature legislation, the tax bill, has demonstrably failed to deliver on any of its promises vis a vis the economy or the middle class.
For all the talk about his electoral landslide (granted only he talks about it) his decisive victories in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin were all by 1% or less.
Is the confidence in the perceived weakness of Democratic candidates (almost all of whom defeat Trump in head to head polling, as meaningless as those might be 10+ months out)? Or that simply "owning the libs" is enough to draw people to the polls? We'd rather win than make a good decision, is that the idea?
