He also considered Ted Cruz to be a moderate.

I'd consider Tulsi and Yang moderate, I can get behind those two. I'm not 100% with them but if either of those two won I'd be ok with it

Although they both have their own versions of bad takes so specifically saying what you like of those candidates might be help figure out wtf is it you consider moderate.

This is why Trump (and more importantly the Trump or Breitbart Playbook, masterminded by Steve Bannon) is such a grand issue in politics that people should really be talking about. They caused people on the Left to be more and more extreme over time to run counter to the Right. A quote from Fire & Fury:

“Bannon’s entire political career, such as it was, had been in political media. It was also in Internet media—that is, media ruled by immediate response. The Breitbart formula was to so appall the liberals that the base was doubly satisfied, generating clicks in a ricochet of disgust and delight. You defined yourself by your enemy’s reaction. Conflict was the media bait—hence, now, the political chum. The new politics was not the art of the compromise but the art of conflict.”

Trump has continued this brand of politics well into his presidency because it simply works. This is why Trump will always double and triple down to appease his base -- it's what they want to hear. For Democrats, they are now unfortunately having to pull their own ideals further left (from center-left to center-right) to appease their potential constituents.

Tulsi's first act in Congress was creating a bi-partisan caucus for new members, so. Moderate is a fine label for her.
