I don't think the Dem's are expecting to change anyone on the right about this. I think they want the vote to hit the floor so it will force the Rep's to officially stand with the president when it has been proven he broke the law. That isn't for the right, it's for the middle. It's so they can say during the campaign, that XYZ is ok with breaking the law so long as their agenda is moving forward.

I see this as more of a long game. The right has been the party of the constitution (lol) for a while now. The Dem's want to prove that they don't give a fuck about the constitution, and they want to use this vote to prove that. And there is no downside in doing this, but there is a lot of backlash that will happen if they don't.

I'll I see are two people complaining that all Democrats arent catering to them, specifically. We are a big tent party with many different ideas, as evidenced by it being 3 months from the start of primary voting and we still have 10+ candidates in the race. If you cant find one candidate you can support out of all of this, then I'm sorry but the problem is you. You arent going to find a politician who is a caricature of you on the stage, you're going to have to make concessions and come to agreements to make it thru the finish line.

Democrats have done nothing but listened since 2016. The problem is yall are spoiled and whine when things arent exactly how you, individually, want it.

For a lot of people, due to the whole bernie or bust shit that helped lead to a Trump presidency, I'm not surprised if people get worried or go on the defensive if they see someone talking down as a blanket to all the dem candidates, making it seem like since there's no perfect rep, they won't vote, even if that's not the case. The problem isnt caring about your future. The problem is spreading narratives like "the dems arent listening", similar to others who have said the dems are handing this to Trump, as if this isnt the most diverse field of candidates that a political party has put forth in...ever? We got everything from borderline socialists, to actual billionaires sharing the stage, offering their ideas, and somehow all of this is dems not listening?

They are listening, and soon will be voting, and if your person in particular isnt doing great, then it's because your particular person didnt do a good enough job convincing more folks of their vision. Maybe if their supporters spent more time explaining their candidates positions, and why they're a better vision for our future, they'd have better numbers and odds at securing the nomination. And if they cant do that, then it is decidedly not because "man those dems just dont listen and are repeating 2016 mistakes".

James Comey literally revived the clinton email "scandal" three weeks prior to the election and ate away at her huge lead after Trump's access hollywood hot mic video came out. Bernie supported Clinton at the convention and physically campaigned for her.

The optics for Dems is pretty bad too. They prop up a pretty unlikable candidate in 2016 where you either had to bend the knee, or get killed/ruined in the process. 2018 rolls around and youth and diversity come out in record numbers to change the narrative and give them the house. So what do the Dems do? They prop up more unlikable decrepit old white people for 2020.

I will agree that the margin between Hillary and Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania was so tight that votes towards the Green Party gave Trump the Win but you cannot and should not act like Bernie single handedly cost her the campaign because his primary campaign might have energized voters who normally wouldn't have voted. I will argue this to undeath.
