And no I won't report you for that. Again, because I'm not a coward. I'll face you. And talk. And after you learn a little something and still think I'm a coward, have at it.

fiye and tymon are the resident militant leftists, just ignore them
I don't think anyone who still supports Trump is automatically a racist. I do think anyone who still supports Trump is okay with racism in our government as long as they personally might benefit from them.
Nah I'm not a tankie yet.
But see here's the deal. I don't know you. But I've seen enough posts to get a generally good grasp on what people are like politically. Its not a science, its not fool proof, and I get it wrong. But, from what I get about you is that you're in a privileged situation that you don't have to worry about politics. That you're decently well off and the week by week atrocities that Trump performs don't matter to you in any scale.
A really ballsy callout would be me saying you'd vote for a republican and a democrat in the same ticket but I can't make that statement without doubting it the second after I said it.
But *ahem* here's the rub.
All Trump supporters are indifferent to his racism. And indifference to something allows it to propagate. And allowing something to propagate makes you culpable for what it does. And so far you've displayed no willingness to combat people for their support for Trump. Indifference to evil is worse than evil. And all are responsible for it.
It's literally been years since I posted anything touching on politics. I don't see how you could draw any conclusions.
That also has no bearing on calling me a coward. There was nothing political about that. That was straight up personal and had no reason to be thrown out there. I wasn't "running," from the conversation.
Now, as far as my privileged situation. Yes, I'm doing quite well, now. I worked my ass off to get where I am. My background is extremely complicated. My family went from living in Boca Raton with my dad clearing $200k a year to making the decision week to week of "food or lights." That, I feel, gives me a very unique perspective. I also have a very mixed family ancestry and family. I'm the lightest skinned person in my family, so I'm typically viewed as just another white boy. The rest of my family has had to deal with some pretty disgusting racism moments living in NC that I've been witness to, but not directed towards me.
I can't see how that would make me exempt to Trump's actions "on any scale." That's a very ignorant statement as every single person in this country regardless of status is impacted to varying degrees whether they're aware or not.
Saying someone would vote Republican and Democrat on the same ticket is ballsy hurts my brain and is precisely what I was referring to in previous post. Yes, I have and do. Someone's party affiliation does not dictate whether they're the right person for the job or not. That's why I'm so jaded by it. The stance of left or right is precisely why we can not evolve as a country. Those who take it to that extreme are absolutely as much a part of the problem as anything else. There are great candidates on both sides every election. Why willingly disregard half of them because of their affiliation? It's astounding this is still a thing. Trump is such a divisive little fucker he's pushing us even harder into it, and that's just one more of the reasons I hate the man.
Where are you drawing your conclusion that I display no willingness to combat people for their support of Trump? Because I don't jump in on the circle jerk of people bashing anyone pro Trump on here? It's covered. Really, it is. Sorry I don't just jump in and scream coward to all of them, but honestly why do I need to when we have so many ready and willing? To prove something to you? To prove it to other posters?
I want to talk to these people. I want to try to understand their logic. You can not change someone's mind by simply telling them they're a fucking retard or coward or just try to bash the fuck out of any of their statements without having an honest conversation. That's mostly what happens here. Not conversation, but more "ha look at this little fickwit you're a fucking moron."
Granted, it's difficult because most pro Trump posters don't engage with anyone on here anymore for that very reason. They were pushed out. They may lurk, but they know it's pointless to try to have any real talking points because the army is gonna come in and nuke ya before there's any real discussion.
So let me take you back to the Trump election. I voted for him. I was a supporter. Why? Ignorance. I have to admit my faults, and that was 100% it. I flat out didn't do my homework and got so sick of Democrats I know laughing at the election like it was a slam dunk that part of me wanted to give them the finger, not truly grasping the impact of that decision. Plus my distaste for the entire bi-partisan system made me want to shake it up. I figured (much like my co-worker) "meh, he's kind of a scumbag, but all of Washington is. He could probably do a great job with the economy at the very least." A VERY ignorant stance I know. But I can not change the past. I can only do what I can to create a better future. That's a very simplified version of events for me.
Historically I've voted both ways. I really don't care what someone's affiliation is, with the exception of how it would shift power overall. I'm stuck with a flawed system I despise, so I'm making the best of it.
Probably missed a few things, but fire away any questions if you want clarification on anything.

I don't think the line is even that. All it takes is not caring about others with whom you do not identify.
Blue collar Trump voters are just the same demographics as the Democrats who voted Reagan in the 80s. They are convinced that when push comes to shove Trump will help them more than the other side will, regardless of who Trump screws over (Muslims and Mexicans) in the meantime.
That's more important than the Democrat message of justice. The Democrats aren't appealing enough to people's inherent tribalistic selfishness.
Yes, and the unfortunate thing is younger people are beginning to become the majority and so are people who are sick of that intrinsic selfishness.
I would add that it is more on the lines of priorities.
People may not like his racist policies, but it is a lower level of importance than something like abortion. You may not like that they put that at a lower level, but I wouldn't say that makes them racist. (Keep in mind many women and minorities are pro-life, too, and that may be why they side with Trump.)
It's funny because we just had Salodin a few pages back pointing out you can never find a candidate that gives you 100% what you want for the dems, and now you have fiye thinking if someone supports Trump that means they support 100% of his policies.
guys, there's a difference in not letting perfect be the enemy of good, and voting for donald trump.
Errr, if suppression of the poor, minorities, or LGTBQ population is lower priority than your own shit you are actively going against your own interest almost 100% of the time considering the GOP have done literally nothing to enrich their voters beyond a promise.
"Fuck you I got mine" is a selfish, archaic attitude to have in today's world.
