By the logic being thrown around here, someone who is against abortion because they view it as the literal murder of a child could absolutely consider anyone voting against him a baby killer. By the logic here, your choice is being racist or supporting the murder of innocent children.

No, it's not complex because you're assuming the person you're calling a baby killer gets as mad about it as white people do when you call them racist. They probably wouldnt get as mad, and would instead remind you their supporting people who would make contraceptives easier to acquire so people arent getting pregnant before they're ready.

Compare this to the racist candidate. What defense can we give to the racist policies? They are actually really good for white AND asians, so they cant be racist? Oh, you just want to be fiscally conscious when you cut that welfare program, but then you turn around and increase the deficit by like 70%? Even when abortions are banned, they still happen illegally. If you want less baby murders, stop accidental pregnancies. I'm sure you can easily tell which candidate would be more effective at providing sex education and contraceptives, since usually Rs want to cut those programs and Ds want to expand them, with very few exceptions.

So then why are you arguing the opposite? You're saying someone knows this person is a racist, and that they will do racist things, and it isnt important enough to matter. That's the difference here. Trump knows the criticism, and he tries to do more of it because it solidifies his racist base. Normally, when people are told they did a racism, they try to do less not more. Normally, when people see someone doubling down on the bad thing, they dont go and encourage/support it, like people encourage or support Trump after all that racism.

I think it's vitally important to try to force change with any ounce of power we have, regardless of the issue. Idc if it's banning blue socks on Tuesday. If it's important to you, do what you can to make it happen. Even if it has a tiny effect, it's still something, and it's a start.

It's hard thinking back to figure out if I was being willfully ignorant of how racist he is, or if I simply did not prioritize it high enough over other issues. Like it or not, Ksandra is right. It's not the #1 factor for a lot of voters. Particularly when we're not directly affected by it.

If you couldnt even tell how bad Trump was when half the country was telling you this guy is particularly bad, what makes you think youd notice the bad things you do as well?

My great terror atm is living in the south and any racist ideas being thrust upon my daughter (she's 6). That's one of the primary motivations for us moving before the start of the next school year. That, and the education system is a joke in NC.

I hate polarized schools of thought but I equally hate "everything is complex" arguments.

The difference between people against abortion crying baby killer and racism is pretty remarkable.

People that are pro-choice are not anti-life. Facts support overall decreases in death irrespective of someone's feelings. It's doing the least harm.

Calling someone a baby killer is extreme and not supported by any evidence except personal feelings and "what the bible says".

Racists, on the other hand, use zero objective evidence and are very much using fear to drive archaic beliefs on superiority. There is no one side and the other. There's no difference in perspective. You don't debate whether one race is better or more right than the other and if you do you're fucking terrible.

The large difference that I feel exists within current supporters is the immense denial that their problems stem from bad decisions driven by fear. It's not the same kind of fear driving racism and anti-LGBTQ behavior.

It's the type of fear I would expect from a spoiled child who thinks Johnny getting a toy means they won't get one therefore Johnny shouldn't get one.
