Two things. The left has absolutely engaged in brute politics. The religious right was beaten from it and now it seems the far left wants a turn. Think back, if you are old enough, on all the "you are going to hell" shit, far left does the exact same thing just in a different form. Lastly, It's not just christian conservatives who support Trump.

"Christian Conservatism" is my biggest gripe with the right TBH, I hate it. I feel its holding not just the right back, but society as a whole to grasp so deeply onto outdated religious ideals. If they could drop that religious foundation crap and just use a simple moral compass that any decent human being would use they'd have wider appeal overall especially with the newer generations. They don't have to stop being Christian, but they need too untie religion from politics, they never should have tied together to begin with.

Its not as clear cut due to years of feet dragging and both sides have mucked up and shat on it for so long its a big stinking mess that no matter the outcome is going to be awful. Which I'm sure was the intent behind dragging this out for so long.

Under better circumstances I still think UK having sovereignty over itself and not being a part of the 4th Reich (I'm kidding. kinda.) would be the better long term solution for UK and its people, even knowing the difficult growing pains it would face getting itself upright without the EU trade deals. I still maintain that in our generation the UK would end up better off out than in, yes. Other arguments aside it won the vote and you can't claim to be pro democracy then cry "redo" or "doesn't count" when you lose.

I don't have a horse in that race TBH, so I haven't been following it as closely since Boris. Frankly I just want it to be over whatever way it rolls so everyone can move on.

Yeeeeeah, Dems dropping impeachment is pretty much a guarantee they all get voted out later. A good chunk of the 2018 process was to actually get us here, but Pelosi was being too much of a fence sitter until this fell in her lap.

There was no benefit to speeding up this process because hopping it to the Senate is just the end of it. Pelosi made Democrats look basically as conservative about impeachment as possible. Lefties hated her. Half the country was polled in favor. She has plenty of vote buffer to get impeachment over so purple Dems can vote against it if they want.

I mean, it isn't like there is a rule that Democrats have to stop at one impeachment investigation. There are plenty of impeachable things being done by this administration. Who says they don't just go straight to an investigation of potentially impeachable offenses related to Trump's businesses?

When Republicans had control of the presidency, House, and Senate and they accomplished jack shit besides giving corporations and the richest people more money. Now they have 2/3 and suddenly the Democrats have to invest their single branch's effort wasting time sending futile legislation to the Senate and (probably not) president?

What a stupid pretense. Oversight is what they should do right now because it is all they can do right now.
