Trump's rally in Minneapolis, MN this past October cost the city $542k. AEG, the promotional company which hosted the event in the Target Center, attempt to recoup at least $530k from the Trump campaign, but the campaign threatened to sue. AEG will now have to reimburse the city.

The city’s breakdown includes $392,139 for public safety and $150,000 for other costs, including barriers and street closures.

The rally, which attracted more than 10,000 people both attending the event and protesting outside the venue, was mostly peaceful but there were instances where Trump supporters and protesters clashed outside of the arena.

Trump’s campaign is known for not reimbursing cities for costs associated with his campaign rallies, and there are no rules that require candidates for federal office to do so. AEG, which has a contract with the campaign, must repay the costs to the city, either by recovering them from campaign or by other means.

Bernie Sanders held a rally of a similar size (just over 10k) earlier this month, but only ended up costing the city $40k in expenses.

Trump plans to officially designate Mexican drug cartels as terrorists and launch military operations against them. The announcement is in response to the Mormon family that was killed recently. Mexico is obviously not thrilled.

The move would enable a wider scope of US action. Mr Trump also said he had told Mexico the US was ready to "go in and clear out" the cartels.

In response Mexico's foreign minister said his country would not allow any "violation of national sovereignty".

Earlier this month Mr Trump vowed to "wage war on the drug cartels" after a deadly attack on US citizens in Mexico.

The victims - three women and six children who were Mormons of dual US-Mexican nationality - were killed in an ambush while travelling through a remote area of northern Mexico on 4 November.

Conservative media figure Bill O'Reilly asked President Trump on Tuesday whether he was going to designate the cartels as terror groups and "start hitting them with drones".

The president said: "They will be designated... I have been working on that for the last 90 days. You know, designation is not that easy, you have to go through a process, and we are well into that process."

He added that he had told Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador that the US was willing to launch operations against the cartels inside Mexico.

"I've already offered him to let us go in and clean it out and he so far has rejected the offer but at some point something has to be done," Mr Trump said.

In addition to a lawsuit the House Oversight and Reform Committee filed Tuesday over redacted documents, two recent surprising turns of events have resurfaced questions about whether administration officials are holding onto potential evidence of the citizenship question's true origins.

In a court filing released Monday, the Justice Department said that it recently realized 41 pages of emails and other documents from the files of a high-ranking Census Bureau official — Christa Jones — were "inadvertently" not shared with attorneys for the question's challengers when the lawsuits were still active.

"The fact that these documents may not have been produced only came to light last week when the Department of Commerce reviewed its files in response to Congressional requests for documents," DOJ attorney James Gilligan wrote in the filing.

It's worse than that. The cartels use mostly American guns that were sold to Mexican police because corruption in the police force means those guns get diverted to cartels.

At this point, it's the same problem as domestic gun control -- the proliferation of firearms is a Pandora's Box that can't be shut. But we definitely uniquely made this problem worse with guns.

Sondland’s recollection of a phone conversation that he said took place on Sept. 9 has emerged as a centerpiece of Trump’s defense as House Democrats argue in an impeachment inquiry that he abused his office to pressure Ukraine to investigate Democrats.

However, no other witness testimony or documents have emerged that corroborate Sondland’s description of a call that day.

Trump himself, in describing the conversation, has referred only to the ambassador’s account of the call, which — based on Sondland’s activities — would have occurred before dawn in Washington. And the White House has not located a record in its switchboard logs of a call between Trump and Sondland on Sept. 9, according to an administration official who, like others in this report, spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

But there is evidence of another call between Trump and Sondland that occurred a few days earlier — one with a very different thrust, in which the president made clear that he wanted his Ukrainian counterpart to personally announce investigations into Trump’s political opponents.

The conflicting information raises serious questions about the accuracy of Sondland’s account, one that Trump has embraced to counter a growing body of evidence that he and his allies pressured Ukraine for his own political benefit.
