So the first video makes the point that the President exercising a power enumerated in the Constitution can still be an impeachable offence depending on circumstance, going on to give the example that while a President has unchecked pardon powers, selling pardons for millions of dollars should rightly be impeachable.

The response opens saying that the lawyer in the first video says it doesn't matter if what Trump did was entirely legal and provided by the Constitution is proof of Democratic bias and invalidates the entire video.

I admittedly didn't make it far into the response, but your issue with the first video was bias and this was the best refutation you could produce?

I mean, after watching both of those videos, I feel like the latter video is trying to explain away all of the points Legal Eagle made with hand waves and no actual facts to back him up "Because people have been calling for his impeachment from day one without much leverage they must now be doing the same thing, so Trump doesn't have to prove anything by letting people with first hand knowledge testify because Congress is just going to call anything he does a High Crime/Misdemeanor and impeach him anyways." is that not the very definition of a straw man? Whereas Legal Eagle provided actual Legal Code sections I could go and read to inform myself and come to my own opinion about the matter.

Well, one of those two went to a top 15 law school in the US. The other felt obliged to respond to a video on US constitutional law, despite not going to law school in the United States. The dude got his undergrad from McGill, which has a top 2 law program in Canada, but went to law school at Université Laval, which isn't even a top 15 law school in Canada. So, take from that what you will.

I'm not sure how law school ranking in Canada works (do they even have 100+ law schools like the U.S.?) but UCLA has cracked the T-14, which is a special among law schools in the US EVEN IF you only consider Tier 1 schools.

To be considered for a corporate law gig you're looking at these requirements (even after you have been practicing a while unless you are a lateral hire from another corporate firm):

Anything @ Top 4 (Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia)
Top 60% @ Top 14
Top 50% @ Top 25
Top 40% @ Tier 1 (top 50)
Top 25% @ Tier 2 (51-100)
Top 10% @ Tier 3 (101-150)
Top 5% @ Tier 4 (150+)

With the exception of Thomas, no current Justice has hired a clerk outside the top 14 ever.

There hasn't been a SCOTUS Justice from anywhere outside the Top 4 in a number of years (John Paul Stevens from Northwestern was the most recent, Northwestern being in the Top 10; before him you have to go back to Thurgood Marshall).

Prestige matters a lot in an elitist profession.

Sondland is accused of sexual misconduct, during his time as a hotel developer, by three women.

All three women said Mr Sondland retaliated against them professionally after they rejected his sexual advances - by verbally abusing them at their workplace, reneging on a promised investment, and withdrawing offers of professional introductions.

One of the women, Nicole Vogel, said she met Mr Sondland for dinner in 2003 in order to secure investment for her new magazine.

She said that after dinner Mr Sondland took her to one of his hotels and invited her to see a room. He then requested a hug, she added, but instead "grabs my face and goes to kiss me".

She said she deflected him and left the hotel, and later received an email from Mr Sondland changing the terms of his investment.

Another woman, Jana Solis, said she met Mr Sondland in 2008 when she was seeking work as a hotel safety expert.

When he offered her the job, she said, he called her "my new hotel chick" and slapped her rear. She then said that on another occasion he invited her to his home in Portland to evaluate his art collection, before exposing himself.

On a third occasion, he asked her to inspect his penthouse apartment and then forcibly kissed her, she said.

The third accuser, Natalie Sept, was working in local politics in Portland for a candidate Mr Sondland had donated money to.

After they were introduced through her boss, she claims Mr Sondland invited her to dinner to discuss work opportunities. She said he asked for a hug at the end of the night, but then pushed himself towards her and tried to forcibly kiss her.

That's the reason I looked into the other dude. I knew legaleagle was a UCLA grad, so I figured the other dude probably had some cred if he was gonna be brazen enough to call him out. Then I saw he was a McGill grad. Interesting...arguing US constitutional law as a Canadian law student...but McGill is legit a very good school, so I was willing to let it pass. But I dug deeper and saw that he did undergrad at McGill but law school elsewhere. Which means, his ass didn't get accepted into McGill. And he went to a middling Canadian law school. Furthermore, he can only practice in Quebec, as Laval only teaches civil law and only Quebec practices civil law whereas the rest of Canada practices common law (McGill teaches both fwiw). Guartz is on a roll with these videos.

Yeah I went to a T20 and my class was filled with people from far more prestigious undergrads. It's harder to get into law school and given that only so many people can be a high class rank sometimes it's better to be big fish in a smaller pond -- especially with incentive financial aid on the line.

I was a tier 3 dropout (kids...early 20s). Don't regret it. Escaped with no debt and I'm happy where my life is now. No long hours, no crushing debt, six figure salary.

One of my friends got accepted into an MD program by playing big fish in small pond for undergrad. He long gamed med school. Mediocre student but best internal med doc I've met and he's only 35 years old.
