haven't been keeping up with the thread so apologies if it's been mentioned but apparently there's some exploit where if you're playing in a party and disconnect your internet for a moment you can load back in to the seasonal party on an eternal character...
obviously don't recommend doing it bc it seems like the kind of thing they'd issue bans for, but how weird (if unsurprising given the state of the game)

well that took a dark turn
Uhh... season 2 trailer dropped lol
Annual "gib us more $$" expansions announced.
no thx
Already know they're going to charge $40+
Good guy arenanet is doing $25 for their annual expansions. That's more like it.
Haven't paid attn to just how dead this game is. The D4 Korea live event just occurred and almost 0 ppl showed up and less than 100 watched online lmao

Compare this to people selling Lost Ark event tickets for 20x face value in after-market sites just to get in the door lmaoooo
Blizz got their money, and a lot of it. Really doesn't matter if its dead now if you pulled that much in initially and you still have idiot whales blowing $10k on useless shit.
I hate that this model works.
Yeah, I tend not to view twitch viewership or things like steam metrics as a barometer for a game's quality and health, but reaping and sowing, etc..
Reused vampire models, season announcement just full of simple bugfix crap and not much else. Probably gonna get leech as an affix or something. So S2 gonna be boring as fuck as well. Maybe by 5-6 they'll finally realize that the game is just hella boring post lvl 60-70 and there needs to be a new world tier, better gear and they need to tone down the fucking affix pool
Eh, there are some ok points in there, but spoken from someone who has no idea bout gaming development; There's nothing there we didn't already know or that added to the discussion. Blizz made a good story-mode game but struggled with providing the end-game experience that matched other games that have been out for years, which really isn't a good expectation. The biggest issue was that it just wasn't fun, and that's why people stopped playing.
Blizzard failed to provide an endgame experience at all. No one realistically expects that a game which has just come out would be able to match the breadth of content from one that has been actively added onto for a decade. But having nothing is inexcusable.
Inb4 bUt NiGhTmArE dUnGeOnS!
Nightmare dungeons are fucking trash. There's no actual reason to do them, there aren't even leaderboards for them. They exist as a way to continue leveling, and leveling also isn't endgame content. Adding a few more pinnacle bosses in season 2 will help but they have a long way to go.
I also contend that the story is mid, and the only cutscene worth talking about is the cinematic one that you get at what is almost the end of the campaign.
It was a Tolkien level epic story compared to what you see in most ARPGs.
They just put all their effort into the story instead of the endgame content that keeps people playing games in the genre.
Compared to its contemporaries sure, it's fine. That said as a whole, as a story, it is so fucking banal it's unreal and all the dudes spouting off about it being cinematic perfection are on some.
90% of it is just going around to places where Lilith was, getting a cryptic flashback of her doing some shit that she did to another NPC at the last 3 locations, and moving on through shitloads of filler quests until the next story dungeon. Things only get interesting right at the end, and it lasts for like, a quest. Then it ends on a predictable and boring cliffhanger to set up for the expansion. At no point did I ever feel connected to any of the NPCs; there was practically no development outside of generic tropes like the grumpy old man who lives alone, and the other grumpy old man who is mad at the other old man for basically no fucking reason. I was supposed to care about an NPC that I had only met a quest or two ago and had no spoken dialogue up until that point, immediately becomes standoffish, then summons a boss. There wasn't a single Deckard Cain or Tyrael level character in the entire game. Inarius was a two dimension dogshit demivillain compared to someone like Malthael or any prime evil. Compare Lilith and Inarius to even Belial from 3. The Leah + Adria plot twist in 3 shit on anything that happened here. Shit is whack.
Like whatever man.
