In Season 14, every Unique can become a Mythic Unique. SSF mode also coming
https://diablofilter.com/news/season-14-ptr-preview
Makes sense but good god the grinding trying to make every slot purple for the sickos
Edit : omg they are annihilating overpower. Deserved but goddamn lol. Dominate glyph changing from 23.6% per stack to 1.8%Important restriction: You can only equip one crafted Mythic. If you find additional Mythics through natural drops, you can equip those alongside your one crafted Mythic
So saw a post too that Mythics won't be guaranteed rolls much like uniques are now? If so that's gonna fucking suck unless mythics just aren't rare at all...which also kind of sucks lol
Mythic feels like the new Unique lol. They should have kept like 3 of X rolls and let ppl go after god versions.
Like just rebalance the other mythics a bit to give them all interesting niche things...every 2-5 seasons it's just 'You need these 2 mythics". Starless skies has been amazing for 10 seasons or more....Heir took over Shako after Shako was supreme for like 6-7 seasons, shroud was the go to for at least 5 straight, etc etc.
These changes just show Blizz has no plan for D4 still, just more tossing shit at a dart board. Can only hope community lashing back at least makes them tweak but it's Blizz so they will triple down on all of it, make a horrible season, blame the players and then reverse the changes and say "See we're listening!"
The job adjustment read like old ffxi patch notes: “oh that job everyone is using? Yeah we nerfed it and we made some other jobs marginally stronger”, making everything worse overall. I’m not saying the ffxiv system is perfect, but their response has been to lift other jobs to do the balancing, not nerf whatever is strong.
I mean that's how WoW balancing has been for forever.
"Oh this has been popular for half this patch or for a month or so? Well we fucking cratered the shit out of it, and in return we gave other classes 2% buff in this next patch"
*Playerbase proceeds to ask why we're not allowed to have fun*
"Fuck you. We know the game better then you"
*Patch hits, numbers drop, community grows annoyed*
Typically followed by another patch 2 weeks later or a hotfix "We reverted some of those changes, we're listening to you and we love you our community"
*Repeat and also rinse in some AI vibe coded patches mixed with charging $75 for in game housing items in WoW or $25 per fucking costume for a SINGLE class in D4*
Just came back to FF14 to catch up and it's nice to basically feel like all the classes are in basically the same-ish spots to how they felt before where everything is "Good" and maybe a couple are "Really good"
They basically got rid of Mythic as it's own set pool, turned the Mythic items into a less powerful Unique version, and let any Unique have a chance to become Mythic tier. It's a good change, though you could make an argument some are less powerful in this form than they should be.
I think my question is “but why though”. Was there something wrong with the mythics? They felt powerful and sought after with unique rolls not found anywhere else, were easy enough to farm, and exclusive enough to feel like endgame gear. You could get to 90% of a build and finally get the drop to complete the build, or get the drop early and build around it.
Was there something about the system that wasn’t working? It’s an honest question since this is my first season in a long time, but upon initial interaction, it seemed to be in a good place.
For build diversity at the top level, yes, there's an argument for changing current Mythic items since only a couple are used near universally out of the whole lot. The average player should also see more of them given it can happen to any unique, which over-all, should give more power to more builds. They'll have to nail the drop rate though.
Just feels like token, "When you try to make every item tier matter, you wind up making every item tier suck..." goin' on.
would yall slophogs say the expansions are worth getting just to roll through the story? don't really care about endgame business much but did really dig D4's story and the main campaign enough to go through with both rogue and necro. need something to tide me over for the next couple weeks until the newest Rogue Trader expansion.
ps how is pally tuned so far? loved them in D2.
The story in the first expansion was not great, but the new one is fantastic.
From an endgame perspective Paladin is not in a great spot right now (I think they're the only class without a real S tier build), but if your primary concern is to just play through the story they're perfectly fine.
It's good enough. Some really dumb decisions made by NPCs but Blizzard ain't no George Clancy. It's also hard to feel for Lilith when demons never die.
who the fuck is george clancy
Meant Tom Clancy
ALRIGHT BOYS WE'RE GOING IN
actually forgot spiritborn existed, generally favor nimbly bimbly melee dps types (assassin was my D2 main) so maybe that's the move over pally
