I have seen the Holy Grail so many times. Friend of mine in college would come to our room and put it on almost every time we were drinking, then she would eventually fall asleep watching it. I'm not sure she ever made it through the whole movie.
I can't imagine having Princess Bride come on and not stopping everything immediately to watch the rest of it.
It is inconceivable.
We have the same amount of posts, sup.
Someone give me an honest opinion on Death Stranding. I would normally look in the gaming thread but I get the sense those guys are just Kojima-stans and/or people trying to justify the purchase.
It doesn't sound worth buying
I watched that movie this weekend after not seeing it for a while. Still good
Yes, that movie was great.
Imagine Simant, only instead of ants you have Sam. Only Sam.
Now imagine the whole game is getting food for your colony of Sam. That's the gameplay. You go out and find or steal food (cargo), and bring it back alive, and that's it. You can sometimes acquire upgrades to make walking easier, you can sometimes find upgrades that let you build ziplines to zoom across the map, or sometimes you can let the game auto build a highway so traveling further isnt a chore. At the end of the day, you're just a little Sam either collecting shit, or building with the shit you collected. That's the gameplay, and if any of that sounded boring or dull, then death stranding is boring and dull for you.
As for the plot, typical kojima anime shit. The universe they create is interesting, as always, but they put the majority of the stuff you care about in text you unlock, and a lot of cutscenes you watch are the people who go over things you already know, or randos you dont care about. Why do they call you Die HardMan, Die hard man? Idk, maybe cause its really fucking hard for you to die. Heartman? Oh I wonder why you're called that. Mama? Huh...I wonder why.. you get it. They telegraph it, and even though it's done well, the direction is pretty mediocre. The philosophy is freshman tier. The plot I started to sour on last night actually when I was subjected to a 10min cutscene of two randos from a shelter I brought together, and they're talking about how they're together but not but are they but who cares who stops them and God fucking damnit it was so bad I skipped it. And I never skip a cutscene in a game I'm on a first playthrough of.
All that said, executution wise, this is kojima tightest game. The menus and graphics are on point, even on base ps4, and the movement all feels great. If you played and liked MGS5, this going to feel VERYYYY reminiscent. Cant overstate that enough. Just with less military action and more SimCity building with your Samant.

Also theres no challenge in the combat. The challenge is in balancing your cargo and preventing damage while fighting off people, not the actual fighting of those people if that makes sense.
The game revolves around you being the world's best FedEx postman

I'm glad I got the game even though I'm on a borrowed ps4, but I'm on chapter 5 and nothing in the plot so far has been worth the effort im putting in ti avoid possible spoilers in the story months from now. This might change cause I hear the plot goes off the rails, but I haven't seen it yet and if I were you I'd wait to buy it for $40 on PC where you can get even better graphics, and that's saying something cause this is the best console game graphics wise imo
