Penny stocks are volatile as fuck and not worth the constant monitoring it requires to profit off it. Did it in my early 20s when Scottrade was still around.

Buddy of mine works for this startup so I felt confident it wasn't a scam, threw in some a few years ago because he's a smart guy and I figured he'd find a way to make the company successful. Then after a couple years of little action the stock started getting really jittery with volumes 10x or more than a normal day with no publicly available news, so I figured there was something brewing (that insiders were likely trading on) so I snapped up a bunch more and a month later they announced a tentative big contract and it skyrocketed.

Now I'm waiting to see if the contract is finalized for another pop.

My friend owns like 10% of the company (in unrealized options obviously), he's going to be rich as fuck if they can close it.

Nah he's tight lipped, he doesn't want to risk anything.

He did say that after the stock popped the FEC paid them a visit with a list of names that had suspicious trading activity, and they were looking it over like "no idea who these people are...wait..." - one of the financiers of the deal was on the list, doing straight up insider trading, the hedge fund or private equity firm or whatever he worked for fired him and he's looking at some penalties.

Texas hold’em is my true side hustle. On a really good night I can walk out with 2-3k. The best thing about MGM National Harbor is that it’s right next to DC. Makes it an even bigger tourist trap for all the part time suckers who think they’re a bigger fish than what they really are.
