I like Hold 'em best as well but I know I'm not very good. I'll lose eventually to the Xno at the table. Keep those buy-ins small.

Last time I was in Vegas, while waiting for Astylla to get out of the bathroom after we landed I said fuck it and started learning just the basics on craps. I just kept bets to a minimum (five dollar table) and over the course of 2 hours, I lost maybe 10 bucks. At one point I got hot as the shooter and this guy let his place bet ride, made him a couple hundred bucks in a few minutes.

Since then, I found a channel on Youtube called Color Up that focuses on different strategies and how to incorporate them into low bet tables (5-10 dollars), and then after spending a few minutes explaining it, will do live rolls on his table to show how quickly it can build up or go side ways. Most of his videos are 20-30 minutes tops, and he has several shorter videos that are essentially a introduction to craps and goes over the basics of the table, the different bets, the odds, etc.

60 is young still. You've got plenty of travel and shit you can do well into your 60s. My aunt and uncle are taking a trip somewhere every couple months.

Yeah, retirement age if you're healthy rocks. My dad just turned 68. Next spring, him, his wife and another couple they are really good friends with are going to France, Normandy and a few other places. They are always out travelling, going on bike rides and such.

in my early 20s i lived off of hold'em for like eighteen months, those were wild times. turns out tying financial stability and emotional health to a card game can be an unstable way to live. who knew.

I have little in savings and tremendous student debt, the most I ever had in the stock market was about $6k and I sold it off after breaking even. About two years later the stock was worth 3x as much. Come to grips recently with the fact that I'm on a dead end track and if I don't dramatically change my life I will never be really happy, because my gauge for personal happiness is intrinsically linked to my gauge of how successful I am.

I am also like this, I wanted to be a CIO and millionaire by 30. Turning 30 in March and I'm nowhere close.

To get to mad successful levels you need more than just skill at your profession. You need dumb luck, connections, verbal confidence. I don't have the latter 3. I think I'm skilled at what I do but I lowered my standards when I realized I don't have luck or connections and don't have a great way of getting either. Just my 2 cents

Dumb luck and connections is severely underestimated. My step brother runs a multi million dollar start up that does something in the cosmetics industry pulling data from social media like facebook and what not to assist companies with their advertising. Flies to France at least once a month for conferences, was a keynote speaker for some convention recently in Vegas, but I sometimes wonder if he would ever have gotten his companies off the ground if his father in law wasn't some millionaire hotshot that does venture capital and such.

Bonuses went out today at work, typically everyone just gets 2 weeks pay extra.
2 guys got an extra 1k bonus because one works every Saturday asked (we very rarely work Saturday and most of the guys refuse) and has a great attitude and the other literally did not miss a single day all year and works overtime .

Apparently at some point this morning one of the drama queens went around asking everyone what they got and then had a meltdown and said it felt like a slap in the face that he got the "standard bonus" when he has worked a few more hours than the one guy that helps out on the weekends.
Drama queen also makes almost $19000 more a year than said guy.
Drama queen left at 10:59 this morning and peeled out of the parking lot

Wtf lol
