leaning towards not leaving the house in nov again
His base is salty AF either way. I guess the question is who his supporters would vote for. Would there be too many that would fall back on Biden since they are salty AF, or would they spread to other candidates enough that Warren would get enough of a push to get her ahead of Biden?
sometimes i think people imagine you can just add their numbers up and boom you got the consolidated leftist candidate neglecting that there is a lot of overlap between educated, high information Pete/Liz voters, and that many salty Bernie bros would sit out/go third party, as they did last time.
that said Iowa and New Hampshire are presently so close were the leftist vote to even partially consolidate the remaining candidate would be the clear favorite in both and have enough momentum from them to prolly become the national favorite, particularly as the moderate lane would remain split. but Biden would remain in play given the loyalty of his minority blocs and that were one of the communists (Bernie especially) to emerge as the frontrunner it would provoke an anyone-but reaction flight to the most viable not that.
As an Iowan once again I will only be supporting Yang. Sorry fellas
Too salty to support dirty Liz or crazy Bernie.
Day transforming from a 2016 Bernie bro to refusing to leave the house if he wins the nomination to vote for him over Trump is one of the healthier character arcs of Game of Thrones season 8
That was really the basis for my question. People are talking about Warren/Bernie dropping out and supporting the other, but would it really do enough to put either ahead of Biden?
Recent polls put Biden around 27%, Bernie at 19%, and Warren at 16%. Warren would need to get 12% boost from BernieBros to get ahead of Biden. With her current polling at 16%, I find it hard to believe that would happen.
As you said and I touched on, I think their supporters would spread out to the other candidates too much, including Biden, to see enough of a push to get ahead of Biden at this point.
@toki As AG said it would be the most effective pre-Iowa, almost certainly pushing the beneficiary to victory in that state and giving that person the winner halo for subsequent races. At this point you can't just consider national polls. Voting changes things.
yeah you look at the 2nd choice of each candidate's base and the math doesn't add up. 30% of Bern's go to Wardog but 26% to Biden, 31% of Warren's to Bernard but 23% to Buttigieg.
that said as said it would matter in Iowa and New Hampshire where the margins are razor thin, but of course consolidation won't happen before that.
how is fuckin biden still leading the polls are people just not listening to his incoherent ramblings or what
he still coasting on obama i guess
Regardless of what people on BG think the Dem candidates are pretty bad and that's why biden is still winning. Nothing else really explains it
The reasons they are bad is debatable and the reasons themselves might be bad. but clearly they are bad choices according to the general public
4 more years of an old white man trying their best to form a sentence either way i guess
@Day: Yes to both.
@Archi: I understand that right now NH and IA will really set the tone for the following primaries. Really just wanted to see what people thought based purely on a hypothetical scenario and speculation. Can only base speculation on what we have now, even if the national polls can change wildly after the early primaries.
