I was hooked after the first bullet hell segment + combat segment. It's a good game and the story gets more interesting as you play, like most games.

I think top down shooters like that are some of my favorite games. used to go to an arcade in Newport, RI and skip the ticket games to play Time Crisis and 1942.

Ikaruga is a pretty good one, also kind of old at this point. Can get it on Steam.

I had Time Crisis for the PS1. My cousin worked at Funcoland and reserved it for me. Was super excited bringing it home.

2 was better than 1, but I think at 3 they started introducing new mechanics to try to start relevant that didn't feel natural.

I was pretty good at the arcade one having played 1 at home so much.
