Also, at least for fields relevant to me, you CANNOT get a GS-11 or above without a PhD
Most GS12’s here in the DoD don’t even have a bachelors lol
God damn sounds like we need some uniformed federal service pay reform

Will all my experience on CIWS I could get a GS-12 job in San Diego the second I get out of the military.
Which is pretty much plan once I hit 20.
Pretty sure shoe shiners one the Hill are GS-14. They just fuckin throw money away

I guess I'll just die then
Paralegals make ~100k?
Yeah, guess I'll just die
A paralegal is an SQL query that needs shit breaks
I mean I literally was in a meeting 2 hours ago with somebody who designed the CCD cameras on a telescope that has been working in space for 20 years at ~97% efficiency and he makes less than $120k/yr on the GS payscale with the Boston adjustment.
Who also is a NASA flight director. You know those guys they talk to on comms in astronaut movies? Yeah, one of those.
This knowledge that I have learned here today is terrible
Coolness factor doesn't always get paid well
It's not a coolness factor. It's a level of education and specialization that an incredibly infinitesimal percent of the human population would ever even be capable of properly understanding, myself included.
And dude makes as much as a walking database query that a freshman could code.
Imagine the public outrage if the general public was knowledgable on federal pay scales lol
They're making HOW much money and cutting access to programs in my neighborhood?
