Like, I'll make a significant amount more than that by this time next year just managing an auto repair and tire shop.
Let that sink in.

It's all public salad. All government employee scales are
But just cause they're public doesnt mean people are aware of it

I want to say there was a support position at OSG that was GS13, but I'm probably thinking of the department managers. Above them on the payscale were the department heads and assistant solicitors, above them were appointees. I haven't been keeping track of things like that as much at Civil, mostly I just keep my head down and send reports.
I saw a chick I used to smash in law school is now VP of some compliance division at JPMorgan Chase and it got me depressed thinking about leaving my job back in 2017 and how I'm 3 years behind everyone I went to law school with now.

This is like the opposite of NYC government jobs. I know a guy that's been with the City for 24 years now and he's only making about $70k/year while being in a mid-to-high position (Engineer-in-charge).
One step down, a Resident Engineer, as a consulting company you can make 120-140k depending on the contract.
The Harvard Grad students are on strike right now, and it's pretty interesting. Combined with this conversation it makes me wonder what would happen if all the GS11+ scientists went on strike.
Like
1) It's near impossible to fire people from government positions, we all know this
2) lmao good luck replacing them
And the fallout would probably hit the DoD hardest and pretty much instantly.
Thankfully GF and I make comfortably over $200k together so I dont ever need to think too hard about money in a need sense
but looking at this shit objectively just really sucks sometimes
If we had proper federal pay reform we could finance medicare for all AND arm our military with mobile suits...

Knowing some of you guys were in the military I'd be wary of giving any of you mobile suits.
Nobody wants to give you a gundam either tymon

That's fine, I'm too old for that shit now. You need the twitch reaction 14 year olds driving those things.
That's what Fortnite is for, training Gundam pilots.
True. Us old millenials would be better off with a Gurren Lagenn or something

honestly the whole "we need children to pilot the suits" thing makes total sense aside from the entire point of writing the story in the first place was so that someone could draw naked 14 y/o girls
draw a few 14 y/o angie veronas (?)
