But at least you can buy a bag of tostones before leaving.

I would totally take this deal if I worked at Walmart. For just the gf and I we would save like $270. Getting time and a half on Walmart pay I'd make like $80 more before taxes.
Reddit outrage is on ycs levels of stupid sometimes
The waltons are worth almost 200billion. They can afford to pay their workers, who worked over 40 hours that week, time and a half AND give a modest discount.
Their double dipping by substituting extra pay for a coupon...on items they already have marked up 50%+. They win on both sides. Totally fucked up.

Got a link for a company who's providing time and a half and a discount?
Is your company?
A classic example of ycs retardation. I have to assume I make 4x the average Walmart employees pay and it would still be better for me to take that discount
The discount in question is 25% off as well

Do you guys not have stat holidays? lol
i think you're missing the point lil man.
if you're spending enough at bed bath and beyond to make this discount worth it you have problems. groceries are things people generally need to live though and almost in every sane persons budget.
personally i don't budget $800/month for bed bath and beyond but i do budget for groceries and walmart groceries aren't horrible especially for someone on min wage
also they do pay time and a half for workers above 40hrs(as they have very few salary employees), that's federal law, they are not wanting to pay time and a half for holidays and offering this discount in lieu of that.
sometimes i feel like you don't really read salad
I'm amazed they upped the discount. When I worked at Walmart many years ago, you got a single 10% off discount that could be used on a single item only, but allowed it to stack with your normal employee discount if it was eligible. The fact that the extra discount though is limited to only two days it can be used on though is a few levels of fucked up. Walmart has always been garbage tier in how they treat their employees. This is nothing more than putting lipstick on a pig.
just to confirm, salad/melena you'd both rather have holiday pay on a 4-6hr shift(assuming $15/hr would be $22.5/hr + taxes) on thanksgiving instead of a 10% discount for 6 weeks and a 25% discount on groceries (15% on everything else) for 2 days?
it's a shitty headline but by the numbers i'm gonna take that discount any day of the week, sorry walmart haters. (i'm also a walmart hater except i like their skinless chicken breasts)
The point is the company can definitely afford both, and their competitor offers both. And add into context their workers are already likely to be on some kind of state assistance, its ludicrous to think Walmart should be given the benefit of the doubt.
As for discounts in retail, all of em offer some kind of discount during the holidays. My friend used to get the best fucking discounts at best buy.

bed bath and beyond isn't a great example of a walmart competitor, but ok homie.
you're avoiding the question because you're either dumb or incapable of answering it and just want to say "fuck big corporations!!"
i bring up a topic and you're telling ME what the point is? what the fuck lmao
