Went with Blue Nile. Cut/Quality/Color above all else. Saved a ton over my friends and the rings are much nicer. Also did a big wedding that we paid for ourselves, most fun and rewarding day ever wouldn't change a thing.

What's the lowest cut and color youd guys go? I've seen a yellow diamond once and now I'm wondering how low a grade people often go before its noticeable cause that yellow diamond was super noticable

Also cut and clarity are the two things I'm clueless on judging. I'm tempted to just go lab grown cause they're all top quality by default.

I'd I had the money I'd buy loose rocks for "investing" and setting in jewelry. I really do think some well cut stones are gorgeous.
I'm talking sapphires and rubies though. Diamonds arent my thing.

Wife wanted an emerald, her birth stone. Unfortunately nice emeralds are also costly and they're a soft stone that naturally has more perceptible flaws.
