Yes how dare I besmirch the movie where the ragtag hero alliance gets crushed by the might of the bad guys, a group of them break off to find help in an opulent thematic city only to have the person helping them turn traitor, meanwhile the main character seeks an old Jedi master for training but leaves before it can be completed after having a vision tempting them to the Dark Side, is further enticed to join the Dark Side by their sworn adversary who makes a shocking revelation about the hero's parents, and ultimately the good guys are all but crushed save for the main characters and a few extras. Oh also there's a giant desperate showdown on a thematic planet as the heroes try to escape.

the empire took down a corrupt religious cult, that governed the universe via thousands of religious zealots that would use literal magic to sway intergalactic political events towards their favour, with an army of non-magical soldiers that were genetically cloned from the greatest and most honoured solider of all time. after their fall a rebel alliance was formed by members of that same religious cult to take down a president that was sworn in by a fair and legal democratic voting process through means of guerilla warfare.

That same empire also took over those clone troopers and ruled the universe through an iron fist, no? Jedi were basically religious hippies.

storm troopers are just cops keeping the peace. at no point in the first 6 movies do they actually do anything bad or corrupt towards the law abiding populous they govern over. every movie is 90 minutes of a bunch of storm troopers chasing a bunch of rebel combatants, that always do something that is dangerous to the general populous, and try to throw them in prison

The most I can say is I have a fond memory of watching the original trilogy when it was remastered for VHS and came in that gold sleeve with a darth vader helmet on the other half. I was home sick with laryngitis and my dad stayed home with me. We watched all three in a row.

I rewatched them with my wife before the 7th movie was released, but didn't see the 8th and don't care to see the 9th. I'll watch it whenever the mood strikes me.

I never got an answer on why Black people hate Star wars. Was it lack of representation? Hispanics(Chewy) and Asians(C3P0) only got one character to represent us. Black people got way more representation.
