I'm generally having fun, but the game is very very rough around the edges. Truthfully I would probably not recommend it right now, and to wait a few months for the game to get patched up and refined. I'm getting annoyed enough by the random jankiness I'm gonna stop playing until a few things get patched/added in (biggest ones being the control scheme and the inventory system being dogshit)

The biggest problem I would say is that the controls just kinda suck but the developers have already commented they're gonna do something about it. The game is also incredibly dense in terms of mechanics, and the tutorials in the game are frequently kinda poor at explaining things. I've had to Google how to complete some of the tutorial quests a few times because the in game explanation was so poor.

Yea I bought it did a few hours and am waiting to see what the patch brings. When I heard a comment from someone saying "I think the game is great, I am really trying to enjoy it" I was like yea when did we get to a place where you need to try and enjoy a game and not just enjoy it lol.

Pearl Abyss didn't work with Intel pre-release so there are no drivers available until the develop their own with the launch version.

Devs pulled an E33 and left ai slop art in the game. Pretty much in the same way that some paintings in the background weren't swapped out.

Devs have addressed this and have promised to audit their use of AI assets. They've also apologized for not being up front about their use of AI in development.

Unrelated, there is a clip on the socials of what happens when you try to leave the game map. It's a fun Easter egg.

You should watch this video on a good 4k display if you have it. This is real time gameplay. I think I am sold. Gonna try it when they get some of the bugs ironed out.

What the fuck is the Hornsplitter bullshit. Everything up until now has been pretty easty, and then they throw this shit at you. I even have some refine 2-3 gear on and he just what the fucks you up.

So, a few bosses later, and it's pretty apparent the game doesn't have any feedback that "your gear needs upgrading" except a boss fight.

Are you curious about animal companions and pets in Crimson Desert? You don't have to go into battle alone, since you can bring cute and cuddly furballs with you. Even better, they help you out with one of the most mundane tasks in combat: looting your dead opponents.

Not loosing rep when you steal if nobody saw is awesome. Lot of other great changes to QoL for gliding too. There's a lot of interactivity you just don't see in other games like NPC's trolling each other, or certain new mounts fighting with you if you're dismounted.

Started playing last night and it feels like the Witcher, but also Starfield when acquiring powers, and the Abyss is a little like the Animus from Assassin's Creed.

Making the drill auto loot any ore is such a fantastic little QOL change

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to mine with it while hanging from a cliff. Everything I try makes me stab the ore with my knife.
