I try the deal with it all the time but he’s a charmer and the instructor will allow it.
Also I get paranoid sometimes as I always hear how men can be messed up because they were forced to repress their feelings.
2021. where not placating your kids childish behavior is considered repression
I think kids are supposed to act childish.

Sounds like the goggles are his swimming security blanket. How do you deal with his other security blankets? If the answer is he still has and uses them, welp, that’s on you to figure out.
Also if he wants to use the goggles they have there and there doesn't seem to be an issue with them lending them out what is the problem really.

You spent all this money on an above ground swimming pool and you're still messing around with public pools?

Really aiming for the pink eye.
This is a good point. My initial reaction was to say he doesn't have security blankets. He never got hooked on a pacifier, teddy bear, blankie, etc. BUT...he still shares a bed with his sister.
When he was first born they slept in separate beds for quite awhile, but at one point his toddler bed broke and he shared a bed with her until we replaced it, and I haven't forced them back into their own beds ever since, figuring she'd eventually just kick him out.
It wouldn't be if he spends half the time running back and forth picking out different ones.
Any parent will tell you that there is something about kids responding much better to a teacher than their own parent when learning something.
Part of my issue is I never had a brother, and my daughter has been 100% easier to raise at this age. (Odds are that will flip when they become teenagers.)
In my husband's case, his father was military and was gone a lot.
Your boy is gonna be a menace to those girls in his life.
have you considered de-eyeing your child
If he doesn’t learn to accept NO at a young age imagine what a pain in the ass/danger he will become as a teenager
I say "No" all the time, honestly. It's like the word I have to say the most throughout the day.
I think you are confusing what I say to him vs. what I am observing he's doing with someone else.
I'm not a helicopter parent. I am not going to hover over him at the pool with another instructor.
I talk to him after and reprimand him for his behavior, but it doesn't stick.
I am getting a new mattress this weekend for my daughter and starting next week (delay is because I am having company over the weekend and they have to share a bed for space) they'll start sleeping in separate beds. I'll see if that helps.
Like I think what happens is is he's a sweet talker, and he doesn't get away with it with me, but he gets away with it for literally every other adult, so his behavior changes when he's with others.
have you considered the belt that is what it took for me to listen just have to deal with the trauma for rest of your life nbd
