I'm just now discovering text messages I sent to people I don't even remember meeting after I got absolutely trashed and wasted on a solo trip to SoCal a few days before Halloween. I made the mistake of drinking solo at a tiki bar before I went to another bar/speakeasy but thankfully didn't have a car.

My late mom's birthday , gone almost 16 years now was Halloween so it's always a bit dicey for me but I'm really disappointed in myself this time. I know better than to drink alone because I don't have self control to know when I'm drunk until I stand up and it's too late.

I still have bruises on both my knees, big toe bruises finally just faded , and left hand got scraped and bruised too but that pales in comparison to realizing I'm a high functioning alcoholic these days.
I only drink on my days off but typically do 2 to 4 bottles of wine ( shared) and often 5 to 8 other drinks as a night over two to three days ranging from whisky on the rocks to hard seltzer and everything in between. I started realizing I feel off usually on Sundays when I return to work and now question if it's low end alcohol withdrawal.
