I started this new job on the 30th, payroll is reflective of current hours (aka you get paid for Dec 15th-30th on Dec 30th). I haven't gotten paid yet and it make me unwilling to work. To be fair they switched systems the first of the year so I'm sure my shit is all sorts of fucked but yeah.. no pay no work my dudes
I'd definitely read that HR manual for this. My current job went out of their way to tell me if there is no pay, there is no work.

Yeah I've emailed. The assistant was like we're working on it.
It's like yo I need a date, that's not an acceptable answer. If exo was down for days at a time HR would be demanding our heads. HR sucks. Sorry HR Bros but it's true.
Do you have a payroll manager or someone you can speak to? Maybe even a Controller? Not sure what the size of the company is and how accessible these people would be.
It's a fortune 500 company. They are having issues with pay for hourly employees that they emailed about, but I'm not hourly, sort of at the precipice of feeling too new to get upset about it but definitely running my phone battery down today due to not working due to no pay
All my work is also blocked by other shit so eh, but I could be doing something I'm sure. That's my daily confessional
Like.. I'm overly anal about budgets and I just got done moving. Feel like I have the right to be upset but at the same time trying not to ruffle feathers in my first month
If you started in the middle of a pay period quite often you will be bypassed your first weeks pay and it will be lumped in the next pay period, making it a 3 week pay.
So like if Sunday January 5th was the end of a pay period, and you started on Monday December 30th, you might not get paid your first pay cheque until Thursday/Friday January 23rd/24th cause the pay period finishes on Sunday January 19th.
I get paid weekly, suckers.
thats a fuck up then and you have to inform them. if you dont that pay might be going to someone else, and if you wait they wont be able to get that money back.... not speaking up will actually piss your employer off and put them out money
Yeah as I said I already emailed their DG and the assistant replied to me but she just said they were working on it (this was 2 days ago.) I'm fortunate enough to not be in dire straits from missing a paycheck (white male privilege) but it just seems unacceptable to me. If I was in another situation I could be in some serious shit
Indeed
Sounds like your HR is only a step above Fry's payroll when I worked there. So many times, they'd take one person's commission, apply it to another person, and then have to fix it the following week, so someone would get a massive check on accident, then the following check would basically be working for minimum wage only as all that commission would be clawed back to be given to the correct person. So glad that piece of shit company is circling the drain.
I once started a job in the middle of their pay period, so my first check was 3 weeks. My next check was at the end of the month, but it was same amount. So I was getting paid for 3 weeks every 2 weeks for a couple of months until they found out. Then they payroll deducted me for months until it was even. LOL
